I won't be buying this game for 400 Microsoft Points but it feels like yesterday when I saw the first "Space Invaders" machine 1978 being rolled out at our local shop. I wonder if that is supposed to be some sort of an indication...

I retire.... See U guys later....

That’s not to say that this 1981 coin-op game—a sequel by Namco to 1980’s Rally-X—is bad. It’s more that New Rally-X is extremely simple and plain, and without much nuance to make it stand out. Space Invaders (which was released in 1978) was extremely simple, with fixed color bands providing any semblance of graphic flair, though it’s a game you could still play now and get sucked right back into all over again. Pac-Man is simple in its construction and look, yet it still challenged you throughout all of its levels. Tetris is simple in its design, but it tested your ability to strategize piece placement, especially when the speed picked up.
