PS3 firmware 2.41 goes live

The most perverse part of me choosing to replace my 360 with a PS3 was that it happened while I was reading the reports of the last update for PS3 (2.40) bricking a number of consoles. Strange indeed.

Anyway, the fix for that firmware upgrade has gone live now so hopefully it won't cause us any problems.

Bout time the fixed it.. I'm glad I missed the 2.40 patch

well like most updates i get em a few days/weeks later

It's a bit meh . The time in the corner feature is probably the best feature out of the update.

For those interested Sony has released a statement to say what went wrong with the 2.40 update.

With this update, we have fixed the problem that prevented a limited number of PS3s from activating properly after updating to version 2.40, when certain system administrative data were contained on the HDD.

My PS 3 was fine after the 2.4 update. It even fixed the bug I had with the game PAIN.
