Just got a PS3

Well it's finally happened I managed to get a 40 gig PS3 much to the dissaproval of my wife and easy, if I can remember correctly. I grabbed the bull by the horns and went in a got it. I stood in Game in Blanchardstown debating for half an hour with my son on weather my life would be worth living if I got one and after much debate I decided feck the consequences and just be a man and get it for god's sake.... LOL

I got a frosty reception from the wife, even the son sold me out and told his mam "I told him not to get it mam"......

Well after several hours of silent treatment from the wife she is talking to me now and I've still got the PS 3....

Haven't had much time to play it yet what with all the updates but I will hopefully get a good look over it tonight.....

Oh I only got one game for it for 399, bloody golden compass is all they had left but beggers can't be choosers....

Solm, Solm, Solm, Solm ,

After all these months of talking, counseling and some more counseling you crossed the line and holy grail between friend and foe. This puts new perspective on the term "..keep your enemies even closer".

I fully understand where your wife is coming from but knowing the other gender you will only be in the dog box for a few nights and that will be the end of it. The reception here from me is going to be even more frosty but I am sure you and Cow will have all kinds of blue "sting-ray" and GT graphics and other technical jabber to chit-chat about. The point is that you are now going to spend even more money on games and accessories. The hole have been dug and all you have to do now is to buy a couple of t-bone steaks to have a BBQ.

Sit back in your chair and think about the following VERY simple questions:
  • Did I need it?
  • Did I really need it?
  • Did I really, really need it that much?
  • What else could I have bought for Eur399 and not to have worried about getting Golden Compass to worry about?
  • You could've bought as example: (Xmas tree for next year + new decorations, a short break for two at a luxurious resort, new bicycle, new dog box, 2 front tyres for the car, car tax for a year and 3 months, 7 new 360 games, 40 years of LIVE subscription, 1Million Microsoft points but TBH the list is as long as you want it to be.
  • Do you play so much that you just couldn't do without it?
  • Was it a impulse purchase?
  • Was the purchase fueled by the thought of being able to play with Cow in the "PlayStation Twilight Zone Network"?
  • Do you feel really, really satisfied by having crossed the bridge between humanity and insanity
  • Can you REALLY not name one thing that would've been better to buy
In my opinion if you can answer all the questions truthfully "YES" then your purchase is constituted. If you can't I suggest getting in your car, taxi, bus or bicycle and dropping hat PS3 back to where you got it from. They will fully understand that you just made a honest mistake in purchasing it.

I don't really have more to say on that

The40Watt will become famous soon enough
I have to say that there is still a little part of me that wants a Playstation. It was my original plan after all to upgrade from the PS2 to the PS3.

But the system doesn't have any exclusive games that would make me choose it at the moment. Still as I said before if my Xbox broke I'd probably replace it with a PS3 because I'd be happy with COD4 on the PS3.

New PS3

Hiya solm, congrats on your new purchase. I had thoughts of a PS3 a few months ago but decided on a new Elite instead.

I still get the urge every now and then to go get myself one BUT, if a game came out for both consoles I know the 360 would win every time, so it would only be exclusive PS3 titles I would be playing.

As well as that I am just not brave enough to go against herself. I know who the boss is in my house.

Anyway enjoy your new purchase, also enjoy your gaming moments on your new PS3 with Cow

Shane I have a DS as does my wife son and daughter. They are brillo, make sure and get yourself an R4DS card or similar. There is plenty out on the net to keep you occupied for hours and hours.

It is the one console I have which I would replace in a flash if anything went wrong with it. And yes I know its a handheld not a console but you get my drift

Hi Shane

www.dealextreme.com

get the 2gig card if you can, but the 1 gig is plenty you can fit about 30 games on the 1 gig depending on the size.
