The more I see of the new Motorstorm game the more impressed I am by it. For me the biggest failing of the first game was the lack of a local multiplayer option. Sure there was online multiplayer but playing against someone sitting beside you is more fun. Well not only have they added split screen support but they've added support for 4 way split screen. It is pretty impressive on a technical level as the graphics still look really good when split into four screens.
The other thing that let down the first game was a lack of variety. It always felt as though you were racing on the same few tracks, nothing much ever seemed to change. This game seems to have a bigger variety of environments to race in and a bigger selection of tracks.
There was nothing wrong with the gameplay in the first game, it was exceptionally good fun. It was just the lack of variety and content made sure the game got boring fairly quickly. I still don't see this game as an essential purchase for me as I'm not the biggest racing fan and there are other games I'm more interested in in the coming months. It will however be worth a look I'm sure when the price drops.
