The build up is starting now with Resistance 2 coming out in the Fall. The Beta has already started for a select few and a new trailer was launched today. I think it is a pretty damn cool trailer to be honest.

There is no gameplay footage, it is all backstory to the game. I think it is good because I don't know the story behind the first game so this is a nice recap on past events. I have to say I do like the alternate timeline story. Shame I didn't like the demo of the first game as I'd be tempted to pick it up cheaply now.

I never cared for the story line of Resistence, I always thought using WW2 as a setting but with an alternative history was a bit of a cope out TBH.

Hmm, starting to think that I will definitely be adding this game to my Xmas wish list. I really like the idea of a separate single and 8 player co-op campaign. I was reading about it here. I also like the fact that your XP builds up no matter which mode you are playing, much like in Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

I saw the first Resistance in Game yesterday for €9.99. I was thinking of getting it on impluse but I'm very bad at impulse buys. I very rarely do it. I thought about it but then decided against it. I then went back in on the way home from work to get it and the offer was over.

Ah well.

A lot of information came out just recently about the Resistance 2 co-op gameplay. It has been known for a long time that the co-op can cater for up to 8 players and that the levels would be different from the single player campaign. However, it is slightly different from what I imagined it was going to be.

I thought the co-op would be you and a group of friends playing through most of the campaign the same as in single player but with new levels and some alterations to other levels to make them more suited to co-op gameplay. I read THIS article on Kotaku yesterday that explains it differently. It seems like you get a squad together and make your way across maps, achieving objectives all the while fighting off hordes of enemies. It doesn't sound like there is a story attached to this mode.

I suppose I am a little disappointed with the news but they do make this mode sound like fun. Plus it is always good to have different modes in games to ensure longevity of a title.

I was looking on Play.com today. Turns out if you pre-order Resistance 2 then you will receive a Beta code on the 10th October. I am thinking of getting this game but probably not a launch.

With the LBP beta over I have some spare time to play other games. I read today that Resistance 2 beta codes might be sent out today. I did sign up a few weeks ago so maybe I'll be lucky.
