I downloaded the trailer for Heavy Rain from the PSN store earlier. I was very, very impressed by the graphics, especially considering their claim that it was actual gameplay footage.
The only thing is that the game seems to be made up entirely of quick time events. At least all the action in the trailer was. What fun is a game when all you do is press square or triangle at the right moment? It wouldn't matter how good the graphics are when this is the only interaction you would have.
There must be more to the game than this though. Maybe it was just a poor choice of footage.
I ain't buying a PS3 for it, gametrailers made it looks like it was all quick time events.
That won't be too bad as long as the story line is great.
So would you play through a hole game (say 9-10 hours) of QTE gameplay if the story was very good? Personally, I think I'd rather sit back and watch a good movie.
That depends, if done right you'd only have to do it for tense, action moments which would be more immersive than the movie. The rest of the time in this game I think will be spent going from a-b and maybe with a puzzle or two along the way.
Here is some more information on the game Brim, specifically how it controls. Strangely I think is the right description. You control the movement of the main character as if in a racing game, i.e. R2 is move forward.
