I had heard briefly about the Folding@home application that you can download onto the PS3 and thought it was a good idea. So I downloaded it yesterday to see what it was all about.

I was downloading the Ratchet and Clank demo and the Folding@home application started up. It really is a cool idea but I'm not sure how often I would leave the PS3 idly switched on in order for it to complete a unit of work for the project.

Still I think it is good of a large company like Sony to take on a project like this in such a prominent way. Plus the map of the world with other active PS3s looks cool.
