Does anyone here consider religion is important? I was asked question today

I would like to be a bit more religious, Always loved the idea that somebody is looking over you, But I find mass(catholic) soo boring, I'd be yawning and everything.

Anyways like I said above. Does anyone consider that religion is important?

it's sole purpose is to give some sort of meaning to life, and to stop people from killing eachother etc. (ten commandments). you learn all this in Sociology

So many people forgot that you couldn't buy drink on good friday. and what about non-christians living here? why should they have to abide to catholic laws?

The government can do anything. Everyone just had to accept it. It made me laugh though that so many people complained about not being able drink for one day.

regardless of it being one day or a hundred days, religion should NOT have a say in how non religious people live their lives

great if youre a practicing catholic and you believe that you shouldnt drink on good friday, nothing is there to stop you keeping to that, however if you dont believe, you cant legally buy a drink for that day which is utter bull

That's funny because when you think of all the killing that has been done in the name of religion throughout history.

Personally, I don't have any religious beliefs and have a lot of built up resentment towards the Catholic religion. This is due to a lot of interference I've suffered over the past few years with overly religious fanatics.
