| Open ID's & Jyte Thought I'd post about this. Open ID's are about to become the next big thing IMO. Firefox 3 and Vista are integrating support for them (although they already work via the homepage). Basically an Open ID is a single ID used to log on to all sites that support Open ID's. This means only entering your password once to sign onto your profile and you then sign in by typing your URL in to sign on to a site and never get asked for your password. The advantages are that it can be more secure (if using sites in US, encryption is limited), it is easier as you only need to remember one password and have one account and you can setup different persona's to have different nicknames for different sites. You can get an Open ID from http://myopenid.com Jyte is an example as it supports Open ID. http://jyte.com is a claim site. People claim whatever and you either agree or disagree by clicking agree/disagree. You can then make a comment on the claim. It also allows you to form groups so people with similar interests can create groups. |
