Right so laptop and 360 have optical outputs so I want a surround sound system that supports optical surround so I can listen to music on the system with my laptop and 360.

Any suggestions. Not looking to spend more than 300 and preferably as little as possible

I got a ministry of sound system in Argos think it was around 300 not sure seems alright. Only has 1 optical input so I only have the 360 hooked upto that. Only thing about them are the speakers are housed and mounted in stupid stands that take up room, so that might be something to watch for when your buying.

If ya have a look over at avforums.com its a uk home entertainment site they surely have a lot of experts there.

Pioneer has some under 300 and I have never had any problems with their equipment before. If I were you, I would check out some of those.

Brim I have these, they are great plenty of inputs, Amp is quite big but worth it. only problem is you need to buy speaker stands separately.
