Chopper - notable only for an awesome performance from Eric Bana. Besides that the film is very disppointing as I'd heard it was very good. I don't see why they even bothered making a movie about this guy, he seems amazingly unremarkable.

Sahara - an underrated action movie starring Matthew McConaughey. It has some good humour, McConaguhey makes a very convincing action hero and is really nicely shot. I don't know why it wasn't more successful than it was. I would certainly be interested in seeing some more of the books brought to the screen.

The Truman Show

Just watched it as it's apart of the English Leaving Cert course, great film.

Step Brothers - an okay movie, nothing amazing but enjoyable enough. Starts to drag in places.

Million Dollar Baby- Good film with a good storyline. I wasnt expecting the ending though.

Right At Your Door - a low budget movie which shows a chemical attack on LA from the perspective of a married couple. It is a very clever idea and it is pretty well executed. The problem with this type of movie is that I always want to see more of what is happening around them but they never show it and that is the point.

Sounds like a handy Leaving Cert film!

It is but, then you need to start comparing the themes and issues of the film with themes/issues from other plays/books.

Least you have seen the film before, we used the Third Man (The Third Man (1949)) as the movie to compare other stuff against during our leaving cert.

We had to do that, a comparison study question. Piece of p*ss. I scored 90% on it in my pres. Can't remember what I got in the actual leaving in English.

You just compare the similarities between them and point out the differences usually. That's about the only two types of question that seem to come up.

Its really easy if you do it right. Its not much different to writing a game review. Just break it down to its logical pieces and make those your paragraphs. An introduction and a conclusion and your done.

As you don't have enough time to go into depth on the both, you just have to throw out a few examples of similarites/differences rather than do this huge massive in depth thing. This doesn't make for as boring reading too as your not showing several things that are the same. I.E each difference/similarity should be unique to try to keep the reader interested.

I always thought it was a easy anyway. We had to do My Left Foot and Philidelphia something or other play. Can't remember now Ah, the system works
