I just watched this film last night and I was really really impressed with it. It is the first film I've seen with Casey Affleck as a main character and I thought he was very good. As was the direction of the film, who'd have thought Ben Affleck had it in him.

This film has been delayed over here in Ireland due to the similarities with the McCann case. Well it was delayed in the UK but seeing as though we are all the one territory for film distribution it was delayed here too.

I'm looking forward to having some discussions about the ending of this movie with people in work who have seen it. The choice at the end of the movie was an interesting one and I'd love to hear peoples opinions of it. Personally, I think Affleck made a terrible decision. Sure, a child should be with their parent[s] but only if they are loving and caring parents. Biology should only matter to a degree. Being raised in a loving environment by non-relatives would surely be preferable to being raised by such a horrid woman as portrayed by Amy Ryan (wonderful performance by the way).
