Your right Cow, it is a far superior ending. If you haven't read the book it will totally clear up the title of the movie.

I can understand why they choose not to use it but I wish studios would take a risk once in a while.

I was thinking some more about this ending. It may have been a case that the studio didn't think an average audience would be able to figure out what was going on. They may not think in terms of looking at Will Smith's character from the Darkseekers point of view. In that way the ending could fall flat.

Nah was as bad as cinemers ending, your one and the kid need to be murdered, and smith needs to die for it to be good film.
