I have to say that firstly I'm a bit of a musical fan (once they are good, eg Phantom Of The Opera etc) but this movie adaption of the stage musical blew me away. Johnny Depp is an amazing singer as is Alan Rickman, not something either of them would be well known for. The story is one of revenge and the wrongful conviction of an innocent man by the judge of London. The story takes off with the return of Sweeny Todd from his exile and the begining of his road to revenge. We are shown flashbacks to tell us the story and to justify why Sweeny Todd has become who he has become.

As with all Tim Burton movies this has a very gothic feel about it and can be WAY over the top in places but brilliantly placed. There is a fantastic twist at the end that you may see coming and to be honest I had a feeling about it, but I'll say no more.

I seriously suggest getting a copy of this movie.. you'll enjoy it!!
