I knew it was happening but now that I've seen pictures I can really start to believe it. I am getting really excited about this movie. All the press is about the fact that it will be a standalone movie, separate from the long running story arc from the TV series. This is a good move in my opinion and I can't wait to see how they continue it on from the series finale.

One strange thing is that the film wasn't announced that long ago and it is due in cinemas in August. I just hope they don't rush it.

Well to be honest 40Watt with Duchovney and Anderson seeming to do be donig sweet FA I'm sure the scheduleing fell nicely to get the movie shot and in the cinema as soon as possible..!!

Over on the Empire: Film Reviews, Movie News and Interviews website they have a link to another picture from the film but they have a spoiler warning so I haven't clicked into it. They say that it gives a major clue as to the approach to the story they are taking but I want to be surprised.

I thought this movie will be very good. Its too far after the last movie IMO and it seems like they just realized that sequels are the thing to do and that the X-files has a large fan base so they decided to give it a shot.

Hope I'm wrong though for the sake of the fans.

Apparently the title of the new movie is to be I Want To Believe.

I like the title I have to say. For fans of the show the phrase will be as familiar as 'trust no one'.

First trailer is up on the net. It is a bootleg copy so is likely to disappear soon enough. It didn't really do anything for me which is disappointing but it is still in my top 3 movies to see this year.

So The X-Files: I Want to Believe is out this weekend. Anyone planning on going?

I definitely would but I'm heading away to Barcelona on holidays so I'll have to wait till I get back to see it. Even though I'm a big fan I think they have waited to long with this. Plus the marketing has been very low key and the trailers have been pretty rubbish. Still having re-watched the entire 9 series about 18 months ago I'm totally up to speed on everything that happened.

Despite the negative vibe I might have given in this post I'm still looking forward to seeing it. Anyone else?
