| 310 to Yuma Item Reviewed: Cinema Movie Product Name: 310 to Yuma ------------------------------------------------------ Submitted by: Solm ------------------------------------------------------ Short Description: Remake of the 1957 movie, staring Russel Crowe. ------------------------------------------------------ Review: First of all let me say I really enjoyed this movie even though Russell Crowe is not my ideal cowboy (Clint Eastwood being my Cowboy idol). Story line is simple. A small-time rancher agrees to hold a captured outlaw who's awaiting a train to go to court in Yuma. A battle of wills ensues as the outlaw tries to psych out the rancher. Russell Crowe and Christan Bale are excellent. I would recommend this if it's still out if not wait until it comes out on DVD. ------------------------------------------------------ Good: Gritty Western with great atmosphere. ------------------------------------------------------ Bad: The Ending is a bit lame. ------------------------------------------------------ Verdict: 7.5/10 ------------------------------------------------------ Rating: 7/10 Other Comment: ------------------------------------------------------

| I remember watching the original in black and white with Glenn Ford. Might have to take a peek at the re-make just to bring back the memories ![]()

| Just finished watching the film tonight and I have to say this is one of my favourite movies this year. I have to admit that this hasn't been a classic year for movies. Some movies I've been looking forward to most have disappointed, Spider-Man 3 for instance. But 3:10 to Yuma was fantastic. I don't see what was so wrong with the ending. In terms of westerns I put this up there with other modern westerns classics such as Unforgiven and Open Range (if you haven't seen it, remedy that now). |
