| 30 days of Night Ok here is my quick review of 30 Days of Night which I went to see on Wednesday, it won't be as good as CoyAndChris but hey we can't all be perfect reviewers.... LOL I'm not into horror movies not since I turned 30, just an age thing. But I decided to give this a go since it's onl rated 16. It's your typical vampire slightly gorey horror with a couple of jumpy bits in between. It was enjoyable enough but the vampire's were not scarey enough for me, one looked like Fat boy slim (the leader) and another one looked like Marlon Manson, so it kind of took the frightfulness out of it. After an Alskan town is plunged into 30 days of night vampire's appear in the town to basically feed on the poor innocent people of the village. After the slaugher of a few hundred there is the usual suspects left and of course our hero (Josh Hartnett) and his lovely enstranged gf (Melissa George). All in all if your into horror movies give it a go, but if you like gorey horrors like Saw don't bothered it won't be gorey enough. Good: Good atmospheric jump in your seat movie Bad: Vampire's didn't look vampirish enough for me Verdict: 7/10

| Storyline was dealt with slightly better in the film than in the original comics. So +1 for that. Violent enough for a 16's, blood flying all over the shop. Something which would be best viewed with your girlfriend/boyfriend so you can hold her/his hand. (Though everyone knows that holding hands is 6/10

| Lol Solm. I generally hate horror movies because I find them too boring. I think I was desensitized to violence at too young an age ![]() Either that or they just suck which I think is more likely ![]() |

| Film Might give this a miss. Horror movies are not really my thing.. On top of that it being rated over 16's means I will have to wait till I grow up. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Come on now guys... my reviews aren't spectacular and you did a great job Solm. Maybe I should stop writing reviews for a while to not discourage others from submitting stuff......

| Quick review. Just finished watching 30 Days of Night. Horror really is one of my least favourite genres but I really enjoyed this film. Finally, a vampire movie that isn't afraid to gloss over the gore. I thought it was excellent at getting across the sense of dread that one might feel if trapped in that situation. The overhead tracking shot of the town being ransacked and the citizens being massacred was awesome from an action and artistic standpoint. I loved the way the movie was shot. I know that it is based on a comic book and the director got the look across perfectly. The way certain scenes are framed looks like it was ripped right out of a comic, check out the scene at the childrens swing for a perfect example. Another thing that I really liked was the ending. A horror movie with a decent payoff, a very rare thing. There are a lot of things wrong like the time-frame jumps and big gaps in logic but with so many things done right it is certainly one of the very best horror movies I've seen. |

| I thought this was a great movie but the ending let it down from being an excellent movie! From what I saw, your wan would've survived until sunlight so there was no reason for him to turn himself into one of them to fight them!! (although that was pretty cool) |
