I've been looking up the catalogue of games that the Wii console has and it is excellent. I think we the XBLA idea is fantastic but it just hasn't been handled correctly.

True we do get some good games, i.e. Streets of Rage II, Bomberman, but generally we get updated ports of old and largely irrelevant games from ancient systems.

Just a quick look over at the Wii library and I see the likes of Gunstar Heroes, Toejam & Earl, Fatal Fury etc... All classic games from generations not too far gone. I know we can't expect some of the best titles such as Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country because they were published by Nintendo but surely MS could go after more third party developers, especially Sega.

It's a real shame because as much as I love playing the latest releases, it is also a lot of fun to do some retro gaming.

I agree with you dude.... the Wii Virtual Console is some cool stuff.

I am anxious to see what releases they will give us in the future for XBLA though.... Downloadable Original Xbox games will be cool...
