you can already do it on those games, just look at their gamercard and click mute.

It is a good idea alright. Makes me glad I'm not going to be on Playstation network or Nintendo online as they realise later on that they should have implemented the feature and your stuck listening to idiots for months in SSBB or MGS4.

I guarantee you they don't bother until the problem turns up.
