| Marriage Proposal in The Forge (Halo 3) Read this article today. Equal parts romantic / nerdy. Halo 3 Is For Lovers : Next Generation - Interactive Entertainment Today, Video Game and Industry News - Home of Edge Online BLOG—Two Xbox users get engaged after a custom Forge map spells out a marriage proposal in Halo 3. Forge, the Halo 3 map editor, is for customizing your playing map, allowing you to tailor it to your specific needs. Maybe you want to make a map that will give you the upper hand on your unwitting enemies, or perhaps you are so badass at the game that you want to build in some challenges. Or maybe—just maybe—you use it for romance. That’s just what Xbox Live user “Moviesign” used it for on November 3rd, when he customized a map in order to set the stage for a marriage proposal to his fellow gamer and girlfriend of over two years, “furtive penguin.” After slyly suggesting to his girlfriend a two-on-two match of Halo 3 with a couple of his friends, Moviesign duped furtive penguin into following him to a section of the map where he claimed he had stashed an energy sword. Moviesign certainly wasn’t lying about the weapons, however, for when they arrived furtive penguin found not one helpful little energy sword, but an entire array of weapons, carefully positioned earlier by Moviesign to spell out his proposal: “Marry Me?” After Moviesign’s in-game character digitally got down on one knee (yes really, check out the screenshot), furtive penguin agreed to be teammates for life. The Chicago based duo have no plans yet for the wedding date, as they are reportedly “waiting to see what the release date is for the next Halo game.” They don’t want any conflicts. Frankly, you had me at energy sword. |
