Leaving the 2million sales figure aside just look at the paid subscription rise and the amount of players playing the game online. If Microsoft have anything to celebrate about it would be with the filtering of subscription packages and getting people hooked. If that was their plan well then they've done well!!!

Gears of War has also pressed more Xbox 360 owners to take advantage of Xbox Live. Paid registrations per day for Xbox Live have risen more than 50 percent since its release. Over 1 million unique gamers have logged on to play more than 10 million games making Gears of War the number 1 Xbox Live title.

In saying that considering you need two accounts to have two people playing online in the same 360, I wonder if that has added to the figure?

Really, didn't realise that, as far as I had heard you have to have two accounts. Well you learn something new every day
