The game is out soon time for a proper thread on the game. Some news first:

I was reading today that Gears of War 2 is going to ship with 10 multiplayer maps. A big improvement over the first. But the real news is that included in every retail version of the game will be a code to download 5 more maps. These additional maps are updated versions of the maps from the first game.

Apparently this approach is to make gamers buy a new copy rather than wait to buy a second hand copy. I'd say it will work as it is a very big incentive.

Good the second hand games market must die, at least the retailer controlled second hand market.

Publishers seem to be tackling the second hand market all right. Look at what Criterion are doing with Burnout Paradise. The game has been out a year now and they just released a game changing update with the bikes for free. That is the second massive update that was free so if you owned the game you would be reluctant to trade it in.

There is another game that has had something similar but I just can't think now what it is. Hmmm....

Is it true that there is 4 player co-op mode or was that just a rumour?

I don't think the co-op has been confirmed yet for the campaign mode. I know the 'Horde' mode can support 5 players.
