I just watched the gameplay footage and it looked very impressive. I really liked the first Gears of War so I expect to get this game when it comes out later this year. The action certainly seems to have been brought up a level or two in spectacle.

Love the bit shown of using a Locust warrior as a shield and then breaking its neck when no longer needed. Cool.

Yeah there looked to be a few new tweaks to a great game. I thought using the locust as a shield was cool as well. At one stage in the vid markus looks over the edge of the vehicle to see hundreds of locusts which was also impressive.

You can't expect them to change the style drastically or do a complete graphical overhaul of the game.

Its still a very good looking game.

There's not very much they can do in the graphics department as its limited by the GC. It does look good considering the limitations if we are indeed actually looking at a console game in action???

well you'll notice when he shoots into the crowd there is no flinching or anything from any of the soldiers in the crowd so there are no guarantee's that you have any effect on that part of the game.

The mountain around the area is probably just a graphic that you have no effect on at all when you shoot it etc...

So I imagine there are quite a few shortcuts taken to get it looking that good and that you can expect to have all your attention focussed on certain areas down a very linear path to get the game looking like this.

Also it doesn't look that much better than the original so they might have just optimised the code and gotten better performance and also the original game looked damn good so I don't think you should expect too much of an improvement

I just look forward to more original levels as the first game was a bit linear and so it repeated plays weren't as much fun and there was nothing really to play through it for again other than one or two minor alternate paths which didn't really need to even exist at all in a lot of places which is something that kind of annoyed me about the originial.

I have to say it looks amazing, hopefully the campaign is longer this time around and you have deathmatches with more people and bigger maps.

Did anyone watch the new footage shown at E3?

I think it looked really good. The gameplay doesn't look like it has evolved too much from the first but that isn't really a problem considering how fun the first was. I loved the shot of Fenix using the mini gun to shot at the huge number of Locusts. Plus it is cool to see some gamplay outside of a cave.
