Head over to Bungie.net: Service will resume momentarily and you will be greeted by a teaser for something... surely a new game. Doesn't look like something from the Halo universe either.

It turns out that that exciting reveal that Bungie were going to do during E3 has been cancelled by their publisher.

I think its effing ridiculous...
Microsoft is their publisher and they cancelled it because they already got their big bang (FF13)...apparently bungie guys were really pissed as a guy on Twitter asked them why they were dismantling their equipment and they wouldn't reply or anything

Turns out Cow was right and the 'publisher' that Bungie refer to was indeed Microsoft.

I wasn't sure because I know Bungie got out of their exclusivity deal with Microsoft recently so it could have been another publisher.

haha I know you werent 40watt haha, but yeah I actually havent been annoyed from them yet (apart from now) haha I guess I'm a fckin 360 fan boy (how sad haha)

That situation has all changed. They have gotten out of that contract but apparently they still owe Microsoft a certain number of exclusive games. Bungie is so big now that there is no reason to assume they can't have two teams working on different games. One for MS another for multiplatform development or another publisher.
