| No it isn't and especially if you think of all the free advertising they get in exchange. In reality only Irish people would buy from them and we also know gamers are all scattered amongst a couple of sites. So in reality I can't even say "it's all in numbers" which would've been the case if all members were buying from them and not just Irish gamers.. I will have to give this strategy a bit of though in the near future..

| I agree with BF that the amount seems small, but, if members are gona buy the game anyway and save a few bob, and the site is getting something for their purchase why not use Gamesnash. Might even get the game a day early if An Post are quickish. To me it all seems good. If sites like gamesnash gets support, hopefully they will grow and offer even more to users. I hate the fact that the retail shops are ripping us off. I know Gamesnash are not in this for charity but I will certainly try and support them, therefore helping this site in a small way. ![]()

| In fairness if 10 people buy RB6V2 using the affiliate link then we get 20 euro. Its enough to make it worth doing. Do we get the same amount from the other affiliate links Easy? If one affiliate gives us more than another, it would be very worthwhile to state this so we can compare prices and see what the site would get depending on who we buy from. |

| Just ordered Rainbow Six 2 myself off them. Easy would it be much trouble to add reading books to the amazon list?

| No problem Steed I can add that... @General: I wasn't so much complaining about the Eur1.85 we are getting and I know they have a profit margin to take into account as well. We will revisit this issue in a couple of months and then everyone will understand what I was trying to say ![]()

Yeah would be great if you would. I have this bookmarked to buy so I'll hold off if your adding amazon books to the site Amazon.co.uk: Pro ASP.NET 3.5 in C# 2008 (Expert's Voice in .Net): Matthew MacDonald: Books Just got DMC4 and Halo 2 collectors edition from gamesnash using the affiliate link. Don't know why I'm adding that, I guess in case they don't show up on your side. BTW everyone, DMC4 is at a good price on Gamesnash ATM. Last edited by brim4brim; 08-03-2008 at 19:16.. |

| Good evening all, Just been reading the comments about the affiliate system and in the interests of openess and fairness felt I should comment. The reality for us is that we simply can't afford to pay more than 3% affiliate commission although we would like to point out that this is a 3% for life not just a 3 month introductory period like most programs offer. We are a start up Irish business geared primarily towards Irish gamers. As a start up a lot of the publishers will either a) not deal with us directly or b) impose massive minimum orders that we simply don't have the cash flow nor customer base at this time to meet. We aren't of the size of the big boys like Play, Amazon, CD Wow etc .... just yet ! What this means for us is in the majority of titles we stock we deal with game wholesalers who have marked up the publishers wholesale price. For us to match or nearly match the prices being charged by the bigger sites we operate on very tight margins on the games that we sell - far less than our competitors do. To use the example of Rainbow 6V2 - this game costs us €55.06 vat inclusive to buy in. Retailing at €61.99 after credit card processing fees we receive €59.51 for the game. Postage and packing costs of approx €1.50 leave us with €58.00 income - which is a €3.00 gross profit on the game. So the €1.85 fee we will be paying this site means this site gets more than we do with €1.15 ! - bearing in mind we have running expenses like all other businesses to run. We are happy to run with these margins as we see it as an investment until such time as we are big enough and have finances behind us to be able to negotiate better cost prices / deal directly with publishers etc etc and we promise that at that time we will be in a postition to increase the affiliate percentage pay out - furthermore those who have supported us while getting off the ground as such we intend to reward more. We are very confident that we will get to this level by offering a vastly superior customer service level and by allowing gamers to trade in their games versus online retail prices. Quite simply the bottom line for a gamer trading in a pre owned game versus a new purchase is they will pay less cash to us than to a high street store. We also are relying on the goodwill of Irish gamers to support an Irish owned and operated venture. I hope that this gives the exiled gamers community a clearer understanding of where we are coming from and going to. We thank you for your support so far and in the future. Our door is always open as such so feel free to ask any questions you may have - we wil always do our best to answer them. Regards Joanne Gamesnash.ie |

| Fair play to you Joanne for explaining the process. I didnt realise that you would have to pay so much for a game from the wholesalers. It really explains why you can only offer a 3% affiliate. |
