Hiya Mcguis, yep game turned up about 2 weeks later. There were some numbers in pen written on the envelope so I thought I would have got stung for vat, but so far I have heard nothing.

Just a note for you, if you are ordering more then 1 game make out separate orders, they also say try and get them delivered to a business address.

Interesting. Whats the criteria for trying to charge you VAT on a personal item ? What if it was a gift from someone else ?

Not 100% sure of gift status. As far as I know it has to be below a certain value. One of the sites my wife uses for wool for cross-stitch always put the items down as gifts valued 15-20 dollars. Never been stung, YET.

There is one site I am told that will mark games as gifts from USA/Canada. Not sure if I should mention site name

Its very dubious charging VAT on imported games...they're not exactly valuables...has anyone actually been stung, or is it just a vicious rumour that this 'could' happen?

They mostly check big boxes I think.

If you got them on a slow day they might sting you on a single game.

lol.

Of course they want to charge you on VAT on imports thats how government makes revenue.

I have got stung twice from PlayAsia so I dont order from them, i order from videogamesplus.ca and tell them to mark items as less than 30 dollars.

Lol, Ireland not only do the shops rip you off more than anywhere else but also your government.

Then they take bribes and still stay in power somehow.

Why does anyone want to live here again?
