The old saga of ratings. The whole article actually very interesting.

Reasonable suggestions for games. I played GTA when I was 15 or so and I have yet to murder someone though so I think this whole thing is dependant on the psycological state of the person playing. An unstable person might be pushed over the edge by a game like GTA but it might have no effect on an unstable person regardless of age.

If I was in charge of rating games, GTA would about 12+. It is up to parents and the individual to decide if they have a stable enough mind to play the game.

The report also claims that videogames are associated with many health and social risks such as obesity, short attention spans, and a lack of social skills, but doesn't provide any research or evidence backing up these claims.
That is completed unfounded. I've played games since I could hold a joystick and I have a longer attention span than anyone I know who doesn't play games. I'm also the ideal weight for my height and my social skills aren't the worst either.

Again games don't effect people who weren't heading in that direction already IMO. If a person has bad social skills and doesn't like interacting with people then they are probably more likely to enjoy playing single player computer games as this allows them to have a hobby and fun without other people.
